If you didn’t know, Cinco De Mayo means the Fifth of May and is the anniversary of the Battle of Puebla. Cinco De Mayo is mainly celebrated in parts of Mexico and in the United States to remember and honor the military victory in 1862 over the French Forces of Napoleon III. This year Cinco De Mayo falls on Thursday, May 5, 2022 and at BB’s Tex-Orleans, we’re calling it Cinco de Bayou and embracing our South Texas Heritage! What better way to do that, than to serve up our YUM Tex-Orleans Field Run crawfish for 5 dollars a pound? If you need to cool off from all that spice, all of our Frozen margaritas and frozen hurricanes will be $5 too! Brooks Bassler, CEO and Founder of BB’s Tex-Orleans, grew up in Rockdale, Texas, and graduated from the Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston. His Maw Maw is from Morgan City, Louisiana, and his love of Texan culture mixed with his love for the Louisiana culture is how the idea of Tex-Orleans came to be! With our Chief Brand Officer, Maricela Bassler, who grew up in McAllen, Texas, by his side, it adds even more of that deep South Texas flare to the mix! Why wouldn’t we want to celebrate it?
