Coogs Take over Haak Winery and BB’s is Bringing the Wine to You!
We all know BB’s Tex-Orleans is owned by Brooks Bassler, who is an alumnus of the University of Houston. We also know that Coogs LOVE to support other Coogs! Well, when we heard that THREE U of H alumni had bought the local Haak Winery, we just HAD to get in on it too! Case Keenum, Troy Kyle and Austin Elrod got together and purchased the 20 year old winery located in Santa Fe, Texas. The original owners, Raymond and Gladys Haak, became interested in wine because of two Concord grapevines that Gladys gave to Raymond for their 10 year anniversary in 1969. Several years later, they have an estate on 12 acres of land with the vineyard, winery with an outdoor patio, and a tasting room. They even converted the 1,800 sq foot wine cellar to host wine lockers and serve as a lounge for private events! These guys couldn’t be more excited to be bringing these award winning wines to everyone, and WE couldn’t be more excited to bring them to YOU! BB’s now has FOUR of their amazing wines on our menu! We have the Dry Blanc Du Bois, which is full of tropical fruits like guava and pineapple, along with fresh, crisp citrus flavors like grapefruit and tangerine. The Semi Dry Blanc Du Bois, which bursts with sweet pineapples and peaches and cream, and is accented by floral aromas as well as mango and guava. Their Cabernet Sauvignon has dark fruit flavors and aromas of ripe plum and black currant, and is kissed with cinnamon, cocoa and sweet tobacco. Last, but definitely not least, we have the Tres Tintos, which is a delightful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec. The flavors and aromas of the Tres Tintos are black cherries, ripe plum, cinnamon and mocha. We are in LOVE with these delicious wines and we know you’ll love them too!
