All Hail the First Crawfishonaire of 2023!

At BB’s Tex-Orleans, becoming a Crawfishonaire is kind of like becoming Crawfish Royalty. Our Krewe of Royalty/ Crawfishonaire Club is a way for our amazing guests to Peel their way to LOTS of awesome rewards and swag. For every pound of our YUM Live Boiled Crawfish you peel, you get a point, which brings you closer to Crawfishonaire Status! For the last three years, our guests have been peelin’ crawfish like crazy trying to claim the title of Crawfishonaire, and we already have our First of 2023. A regular guest of our Katy, TX and Houston Energy Corridor locations, the man who has Peeled the MOST pounds of ANYONE at BB’s in the last three years (WHAT?!), David Monnerjahn has become the FIRST Crawfishonaire of the Season!! We were so excited to hear that we had our first Crawfishonaire of 2023, but we weren’t surprised to learn that it was David. He has been the person who had the highest number of points out of ALL of our amazing Crawfishonaires in the last two years that we have had our Loyalty Program running and is on track to do it again this year! He was the first to claim the title in 2022, and he participated in one of our Marketing Videos, too! He even ordered our Millionth Pound in 2021! We decided it was time to sit down and ask him some questions, and find out a little more about the mysterious man with all the Crawfish points.

BB’s Tex-Orleans: Are you originally from the Houston/Katy, Texas area?

David: I was born in New Orleans

BB’s Tex-Orleans: Did you grow up eating crawfish with your family?

David: I have eaten crawfish with family my entire life, it’s my favorite food.

BB’s Tex-Orleans: Do you ever do your own boils at home?

David: I do boil crawfish at home a few times a year, however, I don’t get loyalty points for those.

BB’s Tex-Orleans: What first brought you to BB’s, and what has continued to bring you back time and time again?

David: I first tried BB’s crawfish at the Houston Heights location when meeting friends for a concert at Fitzgerald’s when it was still there. I return because I really do like the crawfish.

BB’s Tex-Orleans: Do your wife and the rest of your family enjoy eating crawfish as well?

David: My wife and 4 kids all like crawfish, but not as much as me.

BB’s Tex-Orleans: What’s your favorite BB’s boil style? Do you add anything to your boil?

David: Tex-Orleans is the favorite along with the green beans

BB’s Tex-Orleans: Do you have any favorites at BB’s besides the crawfish?

David: My wife and I have gone to BB’s every Friday for several years, when crawfish isn’t available, the shrimp/roast beef poboys are my favorites. The people at the Katy location are what keeps us going there, I have never had a bad experience with service. I don’t like crowded places, but I always feel comfortable there. I also eat lunch (during crawfish season) at the Eldridge location as often as possible, sorry to see Amanda go, but everyone there is always friendly.

Words really can’t express how much we LOVE and Appreciate all of our Amazing guests. Y’all are all really more like family. Part of the Krewe, if you will. It really just fills our hearts with joy seeing such support from so many people, and we only ever want to bring the joy right back to all of you. Our Hat’s Off to David, for being SO Crawsome, and for always doin’ his part to Make Maw Maw Proud.

In the words of our First Crawfishonaire of the Season, the Great David Monnerjahn, “I really love the crawfish, but I also really like being 1st”.
