Port Mansfield Beach Cut and Clean Up

My name is Brooks Bassler and I am taking on the role of the sponsorship chairman for this year’s Port Mansfield Beach Cut and Clean-up, which will be held on June 8th, 2024. My parents, Miller and Kathie Bassler, started this event in 2010 and have given their heart, soul, time, and talent to cleaning up the beautiful beaches and waters of this South Texas paradise. Their efforts have truly been a labor of love and those of you who know them, all know how hard they have worked over the past 14 years to make this event a reality.  As a matter of fact, they have been so devoted to this mission that they have personally coordinated the clean-up of over 70 tons of trash since they started this event 14 years ago. My pops passed the torch to me this year to help with this side of the event, which is just a small task compared to the countless hours they have put in over the years.

Our goal is to make sure that the Port Mansfield Cut and Beach Clean up continues this amazing work that it does year after year to help keep our beautiful waters and beaches clean. Your sponsorship or donation helps pay for the housing needs and the food that is needed to support the over 250+ volunteers that we expect to host for the weekend. The monies will be used to house the volunteers for two nights, provide breakfast and lunch for the day of the event, and have a celebratory dinner that night. The neatest part for me is seeing how many young kids this reaches. I think it’s priceless that this event is teaching so much of our younger generation how important it is to take care of our natural resources and to not LITTER!
